Nose: Slight citrus, iodine, coffee, vanilla and black pepper. This might sound pretty impressive and complex but somehow it isn’t. Each aroma is so subtle it left me wanting more.
Palate: Again nice spice, coffee, vanilla and pear, but too subtle to impress me.
Comments: This is an ok whiskey but not outstanding. In the future Bruichladdich has very interesting plans for their Organic line of Scotches, with single grower whiskies showing the different “terrior’s” of each farm. Much the same way vineyards in California showcase single vineyards in their wines. Maybe that’s why there is such a subtle nature to this whisky, I don’t know but somehow it left me wanting something more.

Bruichladdich Distillery is located on Islay to see exactly where check out our Distillery Map here.
Alc/Vol: 46%
